Spring Has Sprung

Spring[1]

With my jacket buttoned
Against the wind,
I felt spring’s warmth
Across my face
As she danced for me,
With flowers in her hair.

On shore near North Shore Mountains
I saw her beauty.
And waded in the water.
Now the sun was warm
As spring sang around me.

Walking in the winter and the
Noise of silent trees;
Feeling the cold of winter
I try to be without spring
         Till she returns

[1] This poem was crated in 1972.  I recently found one of my poetry notebooks from that period.
