Practicing Meditation

Practicing Meditation

I breathe deeply and slowly,
Concentrating on air’s soft in and out.
I scan the many parts of my body’
Some in pain and others in deep relaxation.

It’s also good to repeat my chant.
Some came long ago from religion,
And religion’s holy name of God
Others like Sa Ta Na Ma mean nothing.

I love to walk and meditate.
It’s a very healthy way to relax.
I concentrate on my legs and feet,
While staying in the here and now.

The Experience of Forgetfulness

The Experience of Forgetfulness

At night I smile and go happily to bed.
I fall to sleep before the entry of my wife.
My sleep is full of dreams that I forget.
I used to record them in a notebook.

Still laughing with the rise of morning sun.
I take my walk through the neighborhood.
I don’t remember the name of those I meet
But we smile and both of us say Hi!

During the afternoon and early evening,
We watch TV and listen to music.
I often fail to remember the actor’s names
And ask my wife who has better memory.

So far I have been able to avoid stress,
Which uncontrolled can destroy my brain.
And at night before I go to sleep in bed
I meditate and that’s beautiful thing.

Creativity and Poetry

Creativity and Poetry

Sitting with my laptop,
I wonder what to say.
Exploring ways of thought,
To create poetry in some new way.

I think it’s getting near the time
To move away from conformity.
Rhyme has been a way of mine.
Now I have a growing curiosity.

I find it hard to leave the path.
Sitting here thoughts proceed to rise.
I want to stop and proceed to laugh
While tears begin inside my eyes.

My Love of Poetry

My Love of Poetry

Forty years have past since I discovered poetry.
It has tickled the brain inside of me.

It is now an activity, for which I really love.
Thanks a lot to the stars above.

For about three quarters of a hundred years
It has brought to me both love and tears.

I still have a quite a few more paths to gain
As the poetry helps me work my brain

The Monster's Back

        The Monster's Back

I thought it was gone this time
But this morning it came back

The white mountains started growing
It covered our windows with breath
Acted up in the driveway

And took a kick at Spring

The Pony's Journey

I am a  funny lad who frustrates mom and dad.
I get frustrated when I'm made to stay at home.
I am always anxious to get out and start to roam.
I  really make both of them feel quite sad.

Two Horses' Journey

Two Horses' Journey

The Gate was open and
No one came after us.
We began to have good fun

After a while we were lost.
It made us nervous and
We began to run.

We need to get home
Because waiting there,
We hope is our son!
